Update on Brother Sudhakar

On a recent mission trip to Haryana State in northwestern India, our National Overseer, Brother Paul Sudhakar, was attacked by a Hindu mob. He was injured, is in the hospital recovering, and is hoping to be released in a few days. Brother Sudhakar stated that even though he is hurting in body, he is rejoicing in the Lord. Please remember Brother Sudhakar and his family in your prayers – that God would encourage them and heal our brother completely.

Tour Group Travels to Israel

On November 27, 2012, an epic journey began for 31 Holy Land pilgrims, their caring and capable tour guide, Mike O'Donell (from Walking With the Prophets tour company), their amazingly competent and informative Israeli guide, Amos Davidowitz, and the best Yemenite bus driver in the world, Abner. Most all of the travelers were members of The Church of God but we were able to get acquainted with, and fall in love with, some new friends not formerly acquainted with the Church.

Upon landing in Tel Aviv (just days following a cease fire from the latest war with the Hamas terrorists who fight from Gaza), we were bused to our hotel in the northern Galilee city of Tiberius. The next morning we began bright and early. Our first stop was to have a service at the CPMA marker at Mt. Hittin. What a glorious presence of the Lord was felt as we read Scripture, sang, and heard a message by General Overseer, Stephen E. Smith. What a wonderful way to begin our tour through Israel! We spent 3 nights in northern Galilee and particip...

New National Overseers Installed

Field Secretary Ray D. Dupre along with Oscar Pimentel, General Headquarters Translator, enjoyed their trip into Guatemala, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay to participate in the installation of the new overseers in these countries. A special thanks to the out-going overseers for their assistance in welcoming the new overseers into the work! It is always a sad time when leaders that you love move on to other assignments. But, the people said their good-byes with gracefulness as they embraced their new leaders with great anticipation of the future.

God's will always brings hope of better days. The work and advancement of the Church during the tenure of Brothers Manuel Castro and David Coronel are to be commended. They leave a good foundation upon which Brothers Digan and Zuniga can work to further advance The Church of God in their countries.

Also installed was Brother Salazar who is now serving as overseer to Colombia along with his assignment to Venezuela. With delight Bishop Dupre and Oscar Pimentel escorted h...

Print Shop Manager Retires

Walter G. Lofton has given thirty-five years of service to General Headquarters, approximately seventeen and one-half in the Church of God of Prophecy and another seventeen and one-half in The Church of God. That is a long time, but Brother Lofton has given much more than time. He has truly given of himself. His heart and soul have been in his work. He has served primarily in the publishing department, but has also served as General Treasurer and has written books that have been a great blessing to the Church and continue to bless those who read them.

Brother Lofton has had the privilege of serving in one of the greatest ministries ever created, the printing of the Gospel message. He has produced thousands, perhaps millions, of tracts that have been scattered all over the world. The Evening Light, Sunday School literature, and other materials have gone to the ends of the earth, edifying the Church and reaching new people for Christ...

God Blesses California Ministers Convention

Excited delegates arrived anticipating a visitation from God. They were not disappointed! Blessings from Heaven were felt in every session. Anointed preaching, teaching, singing, worship, and fellowship were enjoyed by all delegates of the convention. The theme of the gathering, "Chosen of God", served as a vocal point for all on program.

Auxiliary boosts inspired the workers, and messages by Arturo Hernández (Regional Field Secretary), Serafin Pimentel (Regional Overseer), and Ray D Dupre (General Field Secretary) were a blessing to the convention attendees.

When not involved in the spiritual activities of the convention, all enjoyed the special meals that were prepared by the ladies of the region. Closing reports revealed generous giving, an attendance of nearly ninety delegates from all over the region. Some of the delegates even drove over one thousand miles to attend. Everyone left encouraged and ready for the work of the new year.

General Overseer Visits South Korea

My wife and I were privileged to visit The Church of God in South Korea in early October. After a long fourteen and one-half hour flight, followed by a three and one-half hour bus ride, we arrived in the city of Iksan, South Korea. Our first impression of this country was that it is surprisingly modern, seemingly lagging behind the Unites States in nothing. The Incheon International Airport is ultra modern and serves 30 million passengers each year. The highway system is among the best in the world, and we were told they have the number one internet service in the world, with over 90% of the population having access to high-speed internet. It is a country of hard-working people who have succeeded in becoming, economically, one of the leading nations in the world.

Our National Overseer and pastor of the Iksan local church, Choe Jong Dae, along with the local church members, treated us with godly love and provided an abundance of food and fellowship. Our greatest joy was in the worship services. The Koreans...
