Doris Ard Receives Eternal Reward

It is with great sympathy that we report the passing of Doris R. Ard, wife of our National Overseer of Canada and former World Mission Coordinator Bishop Herman D. Ard. Sister Ard was born December 14, 1939 and departed from this life on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 9:56 AM.

Sister Ard was certified as a licensed teacher in 1975 and held several appointments during her ministry. In addition to her own ministry, she served faithfully beside her husband who held several appointments during their ministry years – including National Overseer in Bermuda, Curacao, and the Philippines. They also served as State Overseer in North Dakota, Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, and they pastored several churches throughout the years.

As part of her teaching ministry, Sister Ard had a passion to minister through writing. She published three books – Jewelry and the Child of GodSpiritual Conquest: Lord, Save Our Children, and Unexpected Journeys.

Prayers are appreciated for Sister Ard’s husband, daughter, and other family members that God will grant them special comfort and grace during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16th between 6:00-9:00 PM EDT at The Church of God, Zion Hill on Tillie Road NE in Cleveland, TN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17th at 11:00 AM EDT at the same location. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, Sister Ard requested donations to the Canadian mission work to be made to The Church of God in her name.
