Heritage Month – Week 1 Update

Assembly Tabernacle

While the United States and other countries begin to celebrate pride month, The Church of God begins a new tradition to celebrate Heritage Month. This month commemorates one of God’s greatest gifts to mankind: the Church, the fulness of Christ.

“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all” (Ephesians 1:22, 23).

While the world focuses on personal expression without regard to God’s character and judgment, the Church reflects Christ and strives for holiness, obedience to God’s word, and perfect operation of His government in earth.

Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?” (Song of Solomon 6:10).

May your vision of the Church be strengthened during this month. May your zeal to build the house of God be reflected in your willingness to give to the work and raise funds for the future. Just as David had a zeal for the house in his day.

And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel” (1 Kings 8:17).
