In Loving Memory: Betty Bishop

Press Release

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing from this life into the eternal one of our friend, Sister Betty Bishop, former General Coordinator of the Womens Missionary Band.

Sister Bishop was born March 5, 1943 and was saved at the age of twelve on February 11, 1956. She experienced sanctification and the baptism with the Holy Ghost in July of the same year.

All who knew Sister Bishop knew of her passion for the mission work, and she faithfully served as the General Womens Missionary Band Coordinator from 2007 until 2016.  Under her leadership, the WMB Department began producing the Around the World from the WMB mission DVDs which are sent across the globe to boost March and October World Mission Drives. Untold funds were raised for world missions and souls were saved in every corner of the earth during her time of service.

In addition to her humble service to the general Church, Sister Bishop also faithfully served as a local auxiliary leader, evangelist, state auxiliary coordinator, and pastor for many years.

Sister Bishop was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sherlin Bishop, on August 28, 2004.

Funeral services for Sister Bishop will be at 1:00 PM CDT on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Shawn Womack officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday night from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM CDT. Anniston Memorial Funeral Home is located at 3865 US Highway 431, Anniston, AL 36206.
