The Bible says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints” (Psalm 116:15).
On May 7, 2021, our beloved National Overseer of India (S), Bishop Isaac Thomas Adimavunkal, passed from this life to the next. It is our understanding that it was due to the pandemic that has been assailing the world. General Headquarters had not been previously notified of his being sick or in the hospital, therefore, we were not able to request prayer for him. His passing has come as a complete shock as he had made plans with our World Missions Coordinator to come and be with us at this year’s General Assembly.
This news has caused great pain and sadness. Bishop Thomas was a great person, a wonderful friend, a great worker and collaborator. He loved The Church of God, and without doubt, such a person will be greatly missed. His promotion to heaven has left a void within our ranks.
Brother Thomas was born April 2, 1964 and joined the Church of God of Prophecy in 1973. He renewed his covenant with The Church of God on January 28, 1999 and was appointed as the National Overseer of India shortly thereafter.
On behalf of the General Overseer and his family, and all the staff at Headquarters, we express our deepest condolences to his wife, Sister Bindu, his two children, Ann Mary and Aaron Isaac, and his entire family during these difficult times; they will always be in our prayers and in our hearts. Let us pray for God’s blessings on behalf of India in their labors as they strive to win souls for Christ and His Church.
