It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing from this life into the eternal, Bishop José A. Martínez, former National Overseer of Puerto Rico.
Brother Martínez was born November 1, 1936 and was saved in 1956. He experienced sanctification the same year and was baptized with the Holy Ghost in 1960. Brother Martínez was a faithful member of the Church for over sixty years.
In addition to his humble service as National Overseer of Puerto Rico, Brother Martínez previously served as an auxiliary leader, pastor, and treasurer.
Funeral services for Brother Martínez will be held on March 23rd at 10:00 AM with Melvin C. McGriff, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends on March 23rd at 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Batchelor Brothers Funeral Home is located at 7112 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19126.
