Doris Ard Receives Eternal Reward

It is with great sympathy that we report the passing of Doris R. Ard, wife of our National Overseer of Canada and former World Mission Coordinator Bishop Herman D. Ard. Sister Ard was born December 14, 1939 and departed from this life on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 9:56 AM.

Sister Ard was certified as a licensed teacher in 1975 and held several appointments during her ministry. In addition to her own ministry, she served faithfully beside her husband who held several appointments during their ministry years – including National Overseer in Bermuda, Curacao, and the Philippines. They also served as State Overseer in North Dakota, Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, and they pastored several churches throughout the years.

As part of her teaching ministry, Sister Ard had a passion to minister through writing. She published three books – Jewelry and the Child of God, Spiritual Conquest: Lord, Save Our Children, and Unexpected Journeys.

Revival Fires Coming to Jamaica

The World Mission Department is excited to announce an old-fashioned Church of God revival on the island of Jamaica with evangelist Robert J. Hawkins, Jr., World Mission Coordinator.

Revival services will be held at 6:30 PM nightly on March 2-5, 2016 at the Mt. Olive Fire Baptized Holiness Church of the Americas. The facility is located at 24 Cedar Drive, Marlie Acres, Old Harbour, St. Catherine. Everyone is invited to attend!

The theme of the revival is "Ask for the Old Paths" (Jeremiah 6:16).

We are thankful for the vision of Armena Taylor-Harrison from England, who has a home in Jamaica, for this revival. Sister Taylor-Harrison has friends in the christian community in Jamaica, and they were excited at the possibility of having this revival.

Prior to the revival an announcement will be made via the national newspaper, The Jamaica Sunday Gleaner. Additionally, some advertising will be done in the community to encourage attendance to the services.

Please be in prayer for this revival that God will s...

Greetings from the Interim Overseer

Greetings brothers and sisters of The Church of God! Many prayers and well wishes have come from all over the world for me and my family. We have been blessed by the warmth and love from each of you. As you know, much work lies ahead and my focus is turned to our upcoming General Assembly. I wish I could answer each message personally. Please accept this heartfelt thanks from us for every prayer you have prayed and will be praying for us as we endeavor to do the will of God. Thank you and we hope to see you at the 110th Annual General Assembly!

Bishop Oscar Pimentel
Interim General Overseer

Oscar Pimentel Selected as Interim Overseer

As instructed by the General Assembly of The Church of God, the State/Regional and National Overseers met together July 3-7, 2015 to choose an Interim Overseer to serve until the selection of a General Overseer is made at the upcoming Assembly.

After several days of worship, prayer, and deliberation, the Overseers unanimously selected Bishop Oscar Pimentel to serve as Interim Overseer. Let us all pray for Brother Pimentel as he serves Christ and His Church in this role.

All members of the Church are encouraged to spend time praying and fasting for the upcoming General Assembly. This year's Assembly is scheduled for August 18-23, 2015. Let us each pray that, when we gather together, we can find the mind of God for the selection of General Overseer. Let it be said during and after the Assembly that the Body of Christ solemnly and joyfully agrees,"...it seemed good to the Holy Ghost and us..." (Acts 15:28) in that we have found God's perfect will for The Church of God.

General Overseer's Secretary Retires

Gayle Brooks celebrated her nineteenth year of employment to General Headquarters of The Church of God on April 24, 2014. The next day she was honored with a retirement party. Lunch was served at General Headquarters to Sister Gayle and all current and former employees who were able to attend. A plaque was presented that had Hebrews 6:10 included, "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister."

Sister Gayle came to work for the first time on April 24, 1995, for the Sunday School Department to do the layout and design for our Sunday School literature. She soon was doing layout and design of tracts. She did general typesetting as needed, and served as Coordinator for the Sunday School Review Committee for several years until being moved into the position of private secretary to the General Overseer. Her work as Brother Pruitt's secretary started around November 2000 and continued until his retireme...

Twin Storms Bring Flooding to Mexico Region

Major news agencies around the world report that torrential rains have caused floods and landslides in the Acapulco region in Mexico. These devastating storms have destroyed homes and caused countless other problems for people living in the path of the flooding.

We have received information from our National Overseer, José Bañuelos, that members from the local church in Acapulco have been impacted by the tragedy. Members of the congregation have lost all of their personal belongings.

In order to help these faithful members of the Body of Christ, a relief effort has been established to accept donations for this need. May God bless you as you consider what you can do to help relieve the sufferings of these brothers and sisters in the Lord.

In addition to financial contributions, let us remember to keep the saints in this affected area in our prayers daily.

Deacon Dudley A. Browne Receives Eternal Reward

Dudley Adolphus Browne, National Overseer of Saint Vincent, was born February 19, 1939 and went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2013.

Brother Browne testified of receiving Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord in 1964, and he received sanctification, the second definite work of grace, in 1966. He was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1967.

After becoming a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in the early 1970s, Brother Browne became a licensed evangelist. He ministered within the Church as a Church of Prophecy Marker Association coordinator and a pastor. Later, he was ordained as a deacon. He was appointed as the National Overseer of St. Vincent at the 103rd Annual Assembly in 2008 and continued to serve in that ministerial capacity until his death.

Brother Browne married his wife, Ella Leonora Browne, on March 23, and the couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary...

A Welcome to the General Assembly

"Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God" (2 Peter 3:12).

Prior to the above admonition God informs us that "...there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?" (vv. 3, 4). Scoffers abound today. They mock God's Word, laugh at His commandments, reject the gentle wooing of the Holy Ghost, deride the saints who seek to show them the way of salvation, and indulge in every sin imaginable in their efforts to satisfy the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

The answer of our Lord to this wicked generation is simple, "And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12). Judgment is swiftly approaching this world, whether sinful men believe it or not. Past judgments are on record (Noah's Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah) and serve to remind us that even though God is merciful and longsuffering, He will not hold back the wrath of His...
