Strait is the Gate
The Word of God states, “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:14). The term “strait” as used in this passage of scripture is commonly used to describe a narrow route of passing connecting two areas such as the Strait of Gibraltar. The dictionary goes further to define the word as a term used to reference a situation characterized by a specified degree of trouble or difficulty.
Jesus never promised that the way of the Christian would be easy; however, He did promise to be with His children every step of their earthly journey as they strive toward Heaven. This collection of devotions is written on topics of common difficulty that many encounter on life’s daily journey. Topics include “The Devil Creeps”, “Jonah, a Type of Christ”, “You Must Be Born Again”, “Jesus and the Samaritan Woman”, “Fruit of the Spirit”, “Doers and Not Hearers Only”, and “Faith in Action”.
