Bible Reading Guide

Paul, in his writing to Timothy, instructs us, “Study to whew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). The Word of God is absolute and is necessary if we are to continue walking with Christ daily. It is recorded in the book of Job, “…I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12).

The Psalmist writes regarding God’s Word, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalms 119:11).

This guide has been prepared by the Victory Leaders Band Department of the Church to assist the students of the Word in reading the Bible. By reading the recommended Scripture verses for each day, one can read the Bible through in a year.

More importantly than how quickly a person can read the Bible is how it can be comprehended and understood. The following suggestions are given to successful comprehend what is being read:

  • Set aside a specific time each day for reading the Bible.
  • Maintain a worshipful and reverent attitude while reading. Imagine the Bible scenes as you you.
  • Mark passages that you want to memorize or that are a special blessing to you.

Download the guide, and check off each section of the chart after it is read. Certificates are available to those who complete this guide within a year. To receive a certificate, provide the beginning and ending dates of this guide, your name, and your address. Mail this information to The Church of God, P.O. Box 450, Charleston, TN 37310.
