It was around 1982 when Herman Ard was impressed of the Lord to write a book. After speaking with someone concerning this desire, he was instructed to wait until he had more experience under his belt.
At the time, Brother Ard did not understand this advice; however, now he sees the wisdom of that advice. Many who know about Brother Ard’s calling and have followed his ministry have encouraged him to write this book at this time. It is his prayer that in the writing of the book of his life, where he came from, and the struggles he experienced that someone may be encouraged to continue until they too have fulfilled their calling.
The struggle he had from the time of the calling to the time of actually fulfilling it is a blessing to those in the same situation. To be called to a work yet the door be closed and the calling still burning inside makes you feel like you are facing the Red Sea or a Goliath standing in your way.
It is his prayer that as you read this book that the Spirit will give you the full assurance for it is written, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).
