Holy Ghost Evangelism Fire is Burning in Barcelona, Spain

During the week of September 7, 2025, members canvassed the streets of Barcelona, spreading the news that The Church of God Evangelism Department would be conducting a GO Rally September 12-14. 

A fire cannot exist without oxygen, fuel, and heat. From the opening prayer on Friday evening to the last “amen” on Sunday afternoon, the spiritual oxygen (air thick with God’s presence), the fuel (preaching of the Truth of God’s Word), and the heat (moving of the Spirit) kept the fires ablaze among those who had gathered together from different locations. 

Saturday was filled with specific evangelism classes as requested by National Overseer, Bishop Luis Vela. The lesson subjects included: “The Necessary Tool to Effectively Evangelize—The Baptism of the Holy Ghost,” “Personal and Group Evangelism,” “Importance of Being Organized and Ready,” and “Street Evangelism.” Teachers, Brother Hector Bañuelos and Brother Shane Stevenson, provided detailed information on these subjects. A great interest in these necessary evangelism subjects was shown by the students as pertinent questions were asked, and answers from the Bible and personal experiences were shared. There was a moving of the Spirit when a demonstration was given of how many people in Spain were dying, lost, and undone without Jesus as their personal Saviour, even as the class was being taught! The demonstration certainly fanned the flames to go beyond the walls of the Church to win the lost! 

Between the classes, Sister Vela and several of the ladies prepared and served a delicious lunch of chicken, rice, and salad. It was very filling, satisfying, and tasty, and no one left the lunch table wanting or needing more. A special “thank you” goes to all the sisters for their hard work! 

The interpretation of languages is a vital ministry in the work of the Lord. The Evangelism Department extends sincere gratitude and appreciation to Sister Erika Bañuelos, who served as interpreter for the Rally, during the services, and in the classes. The Lord anoints her for the calling He has placed on her to serve Him and His Church through this ministry.   

The following is the final report that was given by Bishop Vela at the close of the Rally on Sunday: Number in attendance, 122; number saved, 6; number sanctified, 5; number baptized with the Holy Ghost, 1; new visitors, 7.
