Students Gather for BTI in Southern Mexico

Students Gather for BTI in Southern Mexico

On August 21, 2025, General BTI Coordinator, Bishop Paul Horton, and I arrived at Puebla, Mexico South for our second time visiting a BTI school in southern Mexico. Bishop Jose G. Bañuelos, along with 243 students and teachers from different cities and regions, gathered for this school. It was difficult to place all the students and staff in the sanctuary for devotions (some of us had to stand outside), but the Spirit of the Lord poured out even in the street where we were. Sister Marisol Rendón, National BTI Coordinator, did a wonderful job planning ahead and adjusting last-minute arrangements for all the students to be blessed and comfortable, and to enjoy the presence of the Lord.

There were 102 First Term students, 84 Second Term students, and 57 Third Term students, which was a challenge for the teachers, but the Lord helped us all.

A young man named Eliseo, a First Term student and a visitor from a denominational congregation, received a divine revelation and wanted to join the Church during this BTI, but he needed to separate from a wrong marriage situation. He was convinced by the Lord that he needed to join the glorious Church of God, and he was willing to be baptized and fix all things to become a member! Praise the Lord! The Lord always blesses, and this school was no exception.

I shared with the First Term class about the Assembly Tabernacle plans, and they were all excited. I had a little jar of dirt from the Tabernacle property that Bishop Rob Montgomery prepared for the General Assembly. I auctioned it off in the First Term class, explaining that it had only cost me $20, and if someone could give any money for it, I would give the money to the Tabernacle fund. We began with one Mexican peso (about 5 cents) and ended up auctioning it for 2,000 pesos (about $107 US). Praise God for the good spirit among our people around the world for the Church’s Tabernacle plans. This testimony didn’t end there. After class, a sister named Sofia approached me and said she wanted to give 1,500 pesos for the Tabernacle (about $81 US). To God be the glory for this wonderful BTI!
