World Mission Department Provides Help for Lebanon

We have known Dr. Johnny Haddad of the country of Lebanon for several years now. He pastors a local church in the capital city, Beirut. He was introduced to us by the translators that helped us with the Arabic writing on the Church Foundation Memorial Marker on Mount Hittin in Israel. Brother Haddad has expertly translated several of our books and tracts into Arabic and, next to the Spanish language, The Church of God has the most translation work in the Arabic language. Besides our literature being a blessing to our members in Yemen, Egypt, and Morocco, we regularly pray that God will open doors farther into the Arabic speaking world.

As we all know, there has been a crisis in the country in Lebanon (especially the southern region) that has been created by the conflict of the Iran-backed terrorist organization, Hezbollah, with the country of Israel. Innocent lives have been destroyed, families have been displaced, supplies cut off, and employment and movement hindered. The brethren of the World Missions Committee felt impressed to help our brethren in this part of the world and to show them the love of God. Because of your blessed giving to World Missions, we are currently supplying 25 of the neediest families from Brother Haddad’s local church and the community a box of basic foodstuffs and other important supplies, one time per month for three months. Brother Haddad conducted a special service where the gospel was shared with believers and unbelievers and it was announced that The Church of God was working with them to be a blessing to the needy and suffering.

Please remember these dear souls in your prayers, that our brethren would be encouraged and strengthened in their faith in Christ, and that those who don’t know the Lord will see and feel the love of God and commit their lives to Him! And please continue to pray that God would open the doors further for The Church of God to minister in Lebanon, the Middle East, and the Arabic speaking world! “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd” (Matt. 9:36). The prophecies must and will be fulfilled! “The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious” (Isa. 60:13). “…As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth” (Isa. 49:18).
