The following announcement was submitted by Jerry Campbell, General Evangelism Coordinator.
Greetings from the Evangelism Department of The Church of God! Our prayer is that every minister and member is praying, planning, preparing, and promoting the Worldwide Revival scheduled for April 11-13, 2025. This is a first-time international effort within the Body of Christ for every local church to be in revival on the same dates. Therefore, there is a focus and purpose in this effort:
The word “revival” combines two Latin words, “vivo”, meaning to live, and “re” meaning again. It is an awakening, an invigorating experience where the Holy Ghost moves freely among believers, setting their hearts on fire, where hearts and lives are renewed. It goes without saying that the lost, the unbeliever, among our friends and families should be invited to this important event. At the same time, it is to revive the believer and church member in such a way that there is a rededication to evangelize this lost world. What a revival there will be to have every member saved, sanctified, and baptized with the Holy Ghost! Receiving all the experiences God has available to everyone during the World Wide Revival will surely set the church on fire to go beyond the walls of the church to reach the lost. Revival is within – Evangelism is without! There is no limit to the winning of souls, to evangelism, when every member is endued with power from on high, being baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire! Let it be so reported in the Worldwide Revival!!!
Organization and Structure
As far as possible and with every effort, every local church is asked to begin at 7:00 PM, Friday, April 11th; 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 12th and 10:00 AM Sunday morning, April 13th. On Sunday at 5:00 pm (EDT), the General Evangelism Department will broadcast a concluding revival service from the Zion Hill church adjacent to General Headquarters. In taking into consideration time differences around the world, the differences will actually work to our advantage. It allows us to somewhat participate in the revival around the clock. Livestreaming on Sunday at 5:00 pm allows churches around the world to tune in at their given time.
Many of our churches may not have access to an evangelist or, presently, may not even have a pastor. If this is your situation, the following option is offered for consideration. The membership of The Church of God is a royal priesthood. Every member, teacher, evangelist, pastor, deacon, and bishop is called to active duty in this effort and can be used to serve as moderator and/or minister. You don’t have to hold a license or use a conventional method to have a revival. Any of the royal priesthood mentioned can be used, including those within your local church. If you choose to have an evangelist from outside your local church, a list of licensed evangelists available for this united revival effort and future local revivals is available in The Evening Light and have been endorsed by their pastors and overseers. After seeking God, should you feel led by the Holy Ghost to have an evangelist outside your local church, there are expenses to be considered. Fundraising efforts before the revival will be of great benefit to the need.
All troops in the army of the Lord are being rallied together to begin praying and fasting now for this united revival effort. As encouraged in the past General Assembly, let us pray, pray, pray for revival! Let us come together in our local churches around the world in a united effort on the same dates with one mind and in one accord, and expect the fires of revival to fall on every local church!
After the Sunday morning services of the Worldwide Revival, pastors (or a designated person) are asked to complete the following statistical report.
