What are the age requirements and spiritual requirements to attend IYWT?

IYWT is open to those age 18 and older who are saved, sanctified, filled with or earnestly seeking the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, and faithful members of The Church of God. We will accept ages 16 or 17 only if they are directly sent by their region.

How much does IYWT cost?

Tuition is $150 per person. Camp workers selected as their region’s official representative will have their registration fully covered. Additional camp workers are welcome to attend at the regular $150 tuition.

Who should attend the VLB Leader pathway?

Local and regional VLB leaders who want to be better equipped to minister to the youth in their care are encouraged to attend. Pastors and overseers are also encouraged to help make it possible for their leaders to receive this training.

Training for Youth Ministries

International Youth Workers Training is a focused training experience designed to equip those who minister to the youth of The Church of God.

IYWT brings together two training pathways in one weekend. One pathway equips effective camp workers, while the other equips local and regional VLB leaders to better minister to the youth in their care.

Each pathway features specialized training, while all attendees come together for practical mock scenarios and powerful nightly worship services.

What to Expect at IYWT?

Camp Worker Training

Practical training for those serving in camping ministries, covering camp staff positions, responsibilities, leadership, and the real situations workers may face at camp.

VLB Leader Training

Focused training for local and regional VLB leaders, equipping them to understand the needs of today’s youth and minister to them effectively in the local church and beyond.

Hands-on Scenarios

Both pathways come together for realistic mock scenarios where attendees put what they have learned into practice and strengthen their ministry and problem-solving skills.

Spiritual Impact

Each evening, everyone comes together for worship, preaching, and seeking God, keeping spiritual preparation at the center of effective youth ministry.

Yes! Anyone who meets the requirements for IYWT may choose the VLB Leader pathway. Keep in mind that the classes are specifically designed to equip VLB leaders, so some material may not directly apply to you. If that is acceptable to you, you are welcome to attend, provided you still meet the age and spiritual requirements. All participants in this pathway will also be expected to take part in mock scenarios if called upon.

Do you understand and commit to abiding by the rules of IYWT including the dress code?

Because IYWT is a ministry and leadership training, we encourage everyone to dress in a way that reflects the purpose of our time together. Brothers are encouraged to wear business casual attire for classes and dress attire for nightly services. Sisters are encouraged to wear skirts or dresses during classes and nightly services. More casual clothing is welcome during fellowship activities and other times outside of classes and services.

They are made to reflect the ministry and leadership purpose of IYWT and to help maintain an appropriate environment for our classes and services. While International Youth Camp had a more relaxed “camp” environment, International Youth Workers Training will be slightly more formal as it is training the next generation of leaders. If you are unwilling to abide by these guidelines, we understand and respect your decision; however, you will not be able to attend IYWT. We ask that all participants honor these expectations as part of their commitment to the training.
